Zoom in on a couple lying in bed on a sunny, Saturday morning. The man is naked, the woman is wearing panties and a t-shirt.
He’s lying on his back and she’s lying next to him with her head on his shoulder and they’re chatting about the day ahead.
She: What do you feel like doing today?
He: (Moves her hand towards his penis) I dunno, it looks like a nice day out though.
She: Dan was telling me about a couple of little lakes not far from here that have some nice hiking trails.
He: (Once again moves her hand towards his penis) That’s a possibility.
She: Or we could go up to the reservoir and rent a canoe and paddle around.
He: (Rolls over onto his side and then up onto his knees) That sounds like fun.
She: I do have some work that I have to do at some point.
He: (Rolls her over onto her stomach and starts removing her panties)
She: Uhh, what do you think you’re doing?
He: (Deep chuckle)
She: Ever hear of a thing called foreplay?
He: (Bends over and kisses the back of her shoulder) There you go, there’s your foreplay. Now sit still.
She: You’ll pay for that later buster.

Happy Memorial Day
H has become a computer addict and so I haven’t been around much because he’s been hogging my laptop to play various computer games.
We had a nice Memorial Day weekend. On Friday night we went to dinner at a nice little French/Italian bistro near our new place. H and I both started with the same salad – butter lettuce with bleu cheese, glazed walnuts, etc. – and H also had a little meatball appetizer which was very good.
H had the skirt steak with bleu cheese butter which was really good. It came with garlic mashed potatoes and a warm salad made up of dandelion greens, pancetta, and a mustardy vinaigrette which was really good.
I had the braised short ribs which were fab. They were braised in a balsamic glaze and were fork tender and tasty. Very good. My short ribs also came with the garlic mashed but for a vege my dish came with a sautéed kale which was perfect.
Desserts were just okay. H had the savarin which is a yeast cake drowned in a flavored syrup. It was a good savarin but savarin has never been a fave dessert of mine. I had the apple custard tart which was good but, a little too cold. I think it would have been better at room temperature or a little warm.
All in all, I’d give the restaurant a 3.75 out of 5 stars. For food, I’d give it a 4 but the desserts knock it down to an overall 3.75.
On Saturday we slept in (H slept until 11:00), rolled around in the sheets for a bit, then got up and ran errands – over to the house of a good friend to water her plants and clean out her fridge while she is out of town (her father died of cancer last week so she’s been out of state for that), then to the grocery store, the hardware store and home. We put everything away, cleaned ourselves up, and went to my sister’s for dinner.
My sister isn’t the best cook but she has one or two dishes which she makes well. One of them is chicken enchiladas and that was what she was serving. We sat around and gabbed, ate dinner, and then went to see the Da Vinci Code which was entertaining. It wasn’t the best movie ever made but it kept my interest. After the movie we went back to my sister’s house and had dessert (a sour cream apple pie that my niece made) and gabbed for a few more minutes and then headed home.
Sunday morning we got up and were planning on meeting my sister up where my mother’s ashes are to put up flowers and then go to lunch but . . . H got on the computer so we left late and missed my sister (she had to head back home to run errands and couldn’t wait for us). But H and I went up there and strolled around and then went to lunch at my favorite Chinese restaurant.
After lunch we drove around and looked at a couple of potential wedding locations (we’re having to change facilities cuz the guest list is growing), stopped for ice cream and then headed home. After we got home we decided to go bowling, something I haven’t done for about 15 years. So, we found a bowling alley near our new place and headed out. We played three games and the scores were as follows:
Game #1: Urban – 149; H – 71
Game #2: Urban – 151; H – 89
Game #3: Urban 101; H 91
I rock.
After kicking H’s butt in bowling we came home and conked out.
We got up this morning, packed a picnic lunch and headed out for the Marin Headlands. We got to the city and it w
as such a lovely day that we changed our minds and decided to go to Crissy field instead. We parked at the East Beach (see map) and walked down to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a nice walk along the water (again, see map) and the weather was perfect for it. Unfortunately, when we got to the bridge, Fort Point was closed and H was disappointed but, it was still a great walk.
We walked back to our car, grabbed the picnic lunch we’d packed, picked a nice grassy spot with protection from the wind and threw down our blanket. Had a nice lunch, sat/laid in the sunshine for a bit and then headed home.
We got home, unpacked the car and took a 2.5 hour nap. We woke up around 6:00 and had supper and now, I’m going to join H in bed where he’s snoring away.

Brokeback Mountain
So, I finally got around to watching Brokeback Mountain the other day. It wasn’t what I had expected. I don’t know that I’d call it a love story. I think Ennis loved Jack but . . . Jack was a bit more indiscriminate. I don’t think that he had the devotional love for Ennis that Ennis had for him.
I felt bad for Ennis but I kinda wanted to smack Jack upside his head.
