The Wedding Follow Up . . .

Thanks, all. I appreciate the support.

It got worse. I went over to her place that morning because she said that she wanted me to run errands with her before we left for the site. Got there, walked in, said "hi" and she just ignored me. She was walking around getting ready to leave and just ignored me. She finally asked, without looking at me, "Where did you park?" I told her that I parked in the driveway. She repeated, "Where did you park?" I repeated my answer and she asked me twice more.

The the fourth repeat of the question I said, "Obviously you're looking for additional information and I have no idea what it is so why don't you try rephrasing the question?" She then said, "Where did you park? on the right or the left side?" I told her that I parked on the right side and she said, "You need to move your car."

I said okay and told her that once George got there he'd be more than happy to help with everything and she said, "I couldn't care less about George. George isn't my problem. We don't need any additional help. We have everything under control." So I stood there a minute and said, "IIIII'm gonna go move my car." otherwise I was going to tell her to go fuck herself . . . but, I didn't want to be the one to make her cry on her wedding day.

I went out, moved my car onto the street, she came out, got in her car and drove away. Just left me sitting there. I seriously thought about just driving away and calling her and telling her to go fuck herself and find a new maid of honor but her sister and one niece got there (the other one had decided she wasn't going to help anymore) and started asking what we were supposed to do.

I told them what happened and that I had no freaking idea what was going on. So we decided that we would load up my car and that I would take the stuff and the niece down to the site and then come back up to get George which . . . I did.

I picked up George and we headed down there to help, halfway down (around 4:30 p.m.) I called to let them know we were on our way and she told me not to come. Said they were done and were going to be leaving any minute. She asked that I get to the site by noon on Saturday to go over things, etc., and I said I would.

So, we went back to our hotel. One of her nieces called later to tell me that they didn't leave the site until around 11:30 p.m. - so, she was just being a bitch again by telling us not to come help.

THEN she called me around midnight and left a voicemail saying that the plan had changed (again) and that George and I would be taking HER down to the site the next day, along with his and her clothes, and that we had to leave by 8:00 a.m.  :-|

George was pretty pissed when I told him, as was I. I couldn't freaking believe it. But, we did it. We showed up at her house at 8:00 a.m. and she wasn't ready (I lost $20 to George betting on that). We hung around until almost 10:00 before she was ready and then we had to take her to three different places on the way down - the bank; Starbucks for a coffee and pumpkin bread; and McDonald's for her breakfast.

We finally got to the site and we had pretty much decided we were just going to get through the ceremony and then leave. Long story short - we got through what else needed to be done, we got dressed and we got through the ceremony and to the reception - they had the best man do a speech/toast and an old friend of the groom but . . . not me. So, I went up and did a toast anyway and I was very nice.

There were lots of other people at the reception that I like very much and hadn't seen in a while so we talked with them and we had a really good time. When we left she hugged me and said that she was sorry, that she loved me and that she was just stressed out. I told her that she was a pig and that I loved her too.

She called us on Sunday to see if we wanted to go to dinner with them all so we said yes. We sat at the other end of the table and talked with her sister's family, etc., and at the end she apologized again, I told her that I was happy for her and we said goodbye.
And I haven't spoken with her since.

We'll talk again but, I don't know when I'll be up for it or how it will be.

Sucks.
