Miscellanea . . .

Howdy. Been busy lately.

I'm starting to hate my job. Seriously. Hate the thought of changing jobs but, this year it's just crossed the line from crazy-but-I-like-what-I-do to I-hate-it-so-bad-I-want-to-leave.

My allergies are so bad this year I can't stand it. My nose is raw from constant blowing and I feel like cutting it off.

This new diabetes drug I'm trying is freaky. I have to take it 60 minutes before eating a big meal, twice a day, and it does some strange things. I take it and then I feel horrible -- headache and nauseated, I've even thrown up a couple of times; then I eat and feel a little bit better but not much; and then about 30 to 45 minutes after I eat I feel REALLY, REALLY bad and my blood sugar drops SUPER low. It's been as low as 65, 73, 68 and dropping when taken at those times which is weird cuz it should go up after I eat. So, I get scared and stuff a bunch of candy in my mouth to bring it back up which, defeats the purpose so . . . not sure how this is going to work.

I've only done it in the daytime, I've been afraid to do it at night cuz I'm afraid if my blood sugar drops like that when I'm sleeping, I'll go into a coma. So, I thought I'd try it this weekend, in the evening. I took it at 7:00 and at 8:00 ate a bowl of Kashi-Go-Lean Crunch cereal (it takes away my appetite when I take it, cuz I feel so yucky, nothing sounds good so I ate the cereal cuz it's quick and easy). I just took my blood sugar reading (20 minutes later) and it's 76 and it feels like it's still dropping.

I have a great or grand (which is it?) niece now. She's adorable. My older sister's daughter had her.

Went to the new Academy of Sciences the other day, they did a good job. The planetarium is fabulous. The cafe is remarkable -- the desserts were fabulous, we split a strawberry tart and lemon meringue tart that were best I've ever had. And they make them on-site. The pastry chef is the pastry chef at a SF restaurant called Citizen Cake which is a good restaurant and a great bakery. Good job getting them to do that.

Went to see "How to Train Your Dragon" with my youngest niece. Saw it on the iMax in 3-D -- I really enjoyed it. It's a little kid movie but it was fun and the best 3-D I've seen. Way better than Avatar which I thought was awful.

Easter was nice. We had a chopped salad, ham, scalloped potatoes, roasted asparagus with balsamic and parmesan and a strawberry cream cake for dessert.

My place is a pig sty. I'm toying with the idea that I should just embrace my slobitude and quit thinking that the reason it's such a mess is cuz I've been working 16 hours a day but . . . I don't think that's quite true. I think reality is somewhere in the middle. I've tried to speak with Jack and Scout to explain that they need to start pulling their weight around here since 80% of the mess is from them -- toys all over the place, litter thrown out of the box, hair everywhere, puke here and there, etc. -- but they don't seem to agree or care.

That's it for now . . . I need to go grocery shopping but instead, I'm gonna go lie down cuz these drugs have me feeling sick.
