Sheesh

I was cleaning up my hard drive on my office computer today and I stumbled on a picture of Jack laying on his back sleeping. It's a very cute picture and he looks so sweet and happy and peaceful that I did something that I don't usually do -- I made it my desktop. It makes me feel peaceful and happy when I look at it.

But . . . public reaction has been dismaying:

Him: Is that picture distorted?
Me: What do you mean?
Him: I mean, did you try to resize it and cause it to distort in the middle or is . . . well . . . is . . . is that cat really that . . . . . . . . big?

Him 2: How cute! What are their names?
Me: Their?
Him 2: The cats in that picture.
Me: What do you mean?
Him 2: Well, there's the one cat and the other cat laying in front of him.
Me: There's only one cat in that picture.
Him 2: Well, what's that thing laying in front of his stomach?
Me: His stomach.
Him 2: Oh!

Boss: Why do you have a picture of a rug on your computer?
Me: What do you mean?
Boss: Well, isn't that a picture of a grey and white . . . wait . . . that thing has a head . . . holy shit, that's a cat?
Me: Yes. It's a cat.
Boss: That's your cat?
Me: Yes.
Boss: That's a damn fat cat.
Me: Perhaps.

Him 3: Wow, is that your cat?
Me: Yes
Him 3: Cute. What's his name, Tallow?
Me: Pig.

Sheesh, he's not THAT fat. I mean, he could lose a couple of pounds but it's not like he's some giant blob. He's a big cat, big boned so I think they're confusing big and fat.

This is the picture:

What are they talking about?!?!?

The Tax Man

So, how come when you owe the Tax Man and you don't pay on time, they get to hit you with penalties and interest but, when you file your taxes on time and they owe you and you get a message saying that due to a budgetary crisis in California it is unknown at this time when they will start paying out tax refunds you don't get paid a penalty and interest by them?

Doesn't seem quite right.
